Andrew Smith, born in St. Catharines and raised in Vineland, is one of four children reared in a middle-class family. He was raised with conservative values and learned the importance of hard work, appreciating what you have, and helping those that stand in need.
Andrew's education includes a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Business Administration, Finance, from McMaster University. Andrew is an IIROC licensed investment advisor, a licensed insurance advisor and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional.
After more than 10 years working in the telecommunications technology and software industry, Andrew started his career as an investment advisor in 2002 and moved to the iA Private Wealth branch in Welland in 2006. Prior to joining iA Private Wealth, Andrew's extensive business experience included accounting, finance, and strategic planning roles in both small private and large publicly traded companies.
In 2006, Andrew earned the internationally recognized CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation. Thirty hours of accredited education annually is just one of the requirements to maintain this designation.
Andrew is the Past President of the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation and is a former lecturer in personal finance at Brock University.
Andrew and his wife, Gynette, have two daughters. He enjoys traveling, golf, hockey and simply spending time with his family.
